"The Court finds that Plaintiffs have failed to prove that there is a relevant market for open-web display advertiser ad networks, yet established Google violated Section 2 of the Sherman Act."
"Having found Google liable for monopolizing the ad server and ad exchange markets, the Court will proceed to determine appropriate remedies for these violations."
The federal government and 17 states filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google for monopolizing three digital advertising technology markets, violating the Sherman Act. After a bench trial, the court concluded that while there was insufficient evidence for a market on open-web display advertiser ad networks, Google was liable for maintaining monopoly power in the open-web display publisher ad server and ad exchange markets. Additionally, the court found Google unlawfully tied these products together. A schedule for remedy proceedings is forthcoming.
