"“While attending a Coldplay concert in July and unwittingly appearing on the kiss-cam for a few seconds, Kristin Cabot's life blew up in an instant,” “From the outside, it was an amusing, if unflattering meme; but for her, everything changed that day. Cabot experienced firsthand the extremity of public shaming that women have long experienced when in the negative spotlight of the media, one their male counterparts often seem to avoid.”"
"the panel will unpack “the strategy - both immediate and long-term - that has helped Cabot take control of her narrative and rewrite her story.”"
""unemployable.""
Kristin Cabot will appear on the "Taking back the narrative" panel at the PRWeek Crisis Comms Conference in Washington, D.C., on April 16, with individual tickets starting at $875. Cabot unwittingly appeared on the kiss-cam at a Coldplay concert in July and became the target of severe online harassment, doxxing, and sexist abuse that she said left her "unemployable." Much of the harshest criticism focused on Cabot despite another party also being involved. The 35-minute panel will include Dini von Mueffling and Jess Ruderman and will examine immediate and long-term strategies Cabot used to reclaim her story. Cabot is the former head of human relations at Astronomer.
