The chase went from high speeds on the expressway to a crawling pace along the airport's departure road before ending before 7 a.m. in front of the Air Surinam entrance.
Just outside the airport doors, officers led the driver out of the SUV, cuffed him and sat him down on the curb while police reinforcements arrived.
