Everything But the Girl Announce New Best-Of Album
"Everything But the Girl have announced a best-of album titled-you guessed it-The Best of Everything But the Girl."
"In press materials, Tracey Thorn says of the running order, "We always liked albums that had a fast side and a slow side, so we thought we'd start with the bangers and wind down with the ballads""
"Ben Watt adds, "It also makes the album run backwards in time. It gives you a sense of clubland back to bedsit, a journey that to us feels very real. And at the end, we pair the modern-day ( Run a Red Light) with how we started ( Night and Day).""
Everything But the Girl will release The Best of Everything But the Girl on November 14 via Buzzin' Fly/Chrysalis. The 16-song compilation spans more than 40 years of their career and includes remixes and classic tracks such as Missing (Todd Terry Remix), Walking Wounded, and Night and Day. The running order intentionally begins with high-energy songs and winds down into ballads, creating a sequence that moves backwards in time from club-oriented material to earlier bedsit songs. The tracklist pairs modern tracks like Run a Red Light with early material such as Night and Day, and a trailer is available alongside the full tracklist.
