Why Rainbow Kitten Surprise's new album is a 'spill-your-guts-out record'
Briefly

Following a potential collaboration with Fred Again.., Rainbow Kitten Surprise, led by Ela Melo, produced around 160 songs. The band's upcoming album, "Bones," set for release on September 26, features 10 tracks showcasing a raw sound compared to their previous album, "Love Hate Music Box." The album, produced by Jay Joyce, aims for a style suitable for their live performances. Melo emphasizes the importance of crafting songs designed to be played live immediately rather than being built later.
"It's brilliant music," she says of Fred Again..'s soulful electronica.
Eventually, we ended up with close to 160 songs because it just felt so good to write," she says.
This one kind of just came pouring out," Melo says from upstate New York on a recent afternoon between tour dates.
It was the idea that we gotta be able to play this stuff - not build it and play it later, but play it right out of the gate," the singer says.
