This iconic Brooklyn restaurant is closing after nearly a decade
Briefly

Olmsted, a prominent farm-to-table restaurant in Prospect Heights, is set to close on August 17 after nearly ten years of operation. Chef Greg Baxtrom, who previously created a culinary reputation in Brooklyn with Olmsted and other establishments, announced the closure via Instagram. He cited inability to meet personal high standards, as well as factors related to sobriety, mental health, and funding, for the decision. Other restaurants previously opened by Baxtrom have also closed, marking a significant change for his presence in the neighborhood.
"As we settle into nearly ten years on Vanderbilt Avenue with these small restaurants, I realize they no longer have the capacity to meet the standards that mean so much to me," Baxtrom said via Instagram.
Baxtrom stated, "Therefore, I am announcing that I will be closing Olmsted, closing this chapter and starting a new one with fresh restaurant opportunities that can meet our high standards here in NYC and across the country."
