Soft Cell pay homage to '80s NYC nightlife on final album 'Danceteria,' share "Out Come the Freaks" ft Nona Hendryx
"The first single is out now - a cover of Was (Not Was)'s 'Out Come the Freaks' that features Dave Ball on lead vocals with the great Nona Hendryx on backing."
"'Out Come the Freaks' will be released as a 12″ single for Record Store Day 2026."
"Marc Almond will be touring as Soft Cell in North America with The Human League and Yazoo's Alison Moyet throughout June to July this summer."
Soft Cell will release their final album, Danceteria, this spring through Republic of Music. The album was completed before the death of cofounder Dave Ball in October 2025. It draws inspiration from the early '80s New York City nightlife, particularly the Danceteria club. The first single, a cover of Was (Not Was)'s 'Out Come the Freaks,' features Dave Ball on lead vocals and Nona Hendryx on backing. Additionally, Marc Almond will tour North America with The Human League and Alison Moyet in summer 2026.
