During a recent Public Safety Committee hearing, families like that of Darnell Sealy-McCrorey, who lost his daughter Niyell, expressed urgency for legislative action to mitigate road violence and safeguard communities.
"The day we lost Niyell was the most difficult for all of our lives... This epidemic is preventable, and we need speed limiters for repeat offenders."
Yusef Salaam emphasized, "It's very simple: it's to save lives... [Road violence is] literally happening in every single one of our districts."
