"We face extraordinary challenges both at home and abroad. At a moment like this, New Yorkers need representatives with the imagination to offer bold new ideas, the experience to get big things done, and the courage to take on the toughest fights. That's why I will be voting for Micah Lasher for Congress this year."
"Micah was a key part of our team in City Hall, where he helped secure the city's fair share from Albany and advanced the cause of gun safety. I counted on Micah when I was Mayor, and he delivered for our city. I look forward to supporting him this June, and I hope you will, too."
Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg has endorsed Assembly Member Micah Lasher for Congress in the June Democratic primary to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler. Bloomberg praised Lasher as an experienced government official with the ability to deliver results, citing their work together in City Hall where Lasher helped advance Bloomberg's agenda in Albany and championed gun safety initiatives. This endorsement adds to Lasher's growing institutional support in the crowded race. Nadler has already endorsed Lasher as his preferred successor, and Lasher has secured backing from prominent Democratic officials including City Comptroller Mark Levine, Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal, and Council Member Gale Brewer. The 12th Congressional District encompasses the Upper West Side, Upper East Side, and Midtown Manhattan.
