After an initial offensive exchange, the game became a defensive battle. Buccaneers defensive tackle Calijah Kancey suffered a pectoral injury in the second quarter. MRI and tests confirmed a torn pectoral that requires surgery and will end his 2025 season. The 24-year-old was a 2023 first-round pick (19th overall) out of Pittsburgh and had started all 28 games he played. Kancey missed games earlier in his career but still recorded 7.5 sacks in 2024 while playing 71% of defensive snaps. He will miss the final 15 games of 2025 and has now missed 23 games across his first three seasons.
