Drake Maye, a junior in high school when Tom Brady played his final season with the Patriots, is now training under invaluable resources, including film of Brady's performance over 20 seasons and the guidance of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Maye admires Brady’s decision-making skills, preparation against blitzes, and his readiness to throw the football. He acknowledges the shared determination among teammates to restore winning culture at the Patriots, expressing excitement about the team's prospects for improvement as they train together.
"Easy. I think the one thing with Tom, he always knew where to go with the football," Maye said. "He was great with knowing where to go with the football, beating blitzers, knowing where to go before he got the snap. ... And his feet were always in the ground, ready to throw."
"Those are the big things I saw from watching him on tape," Maye added of Brady. "The stuff you see on TV with the leadership, and then now knowing what he was doing, is pretty cool."
