Group says Adams' promise of 3-K seats for every child falls through
Briefly

Parents of 2,000-plus city children were notified that their child did not receive a 3-K seat, despite Mayor Adams' promise that every family wanting a seat would get one.
The impact of lack of free 3-K is huge, costing families $20,000 a year per child, which is unaffordable for many families, as stated by Rebecca Bailin, Director of New Yorkers United for Child Care.
DOE mentioned that about 6% of applicants, around 2,500 families, did not receive offers for 3-K programs, but later confirmed that all students who applied would be placed.
