Alexander Isak has been instructed to train alone and miss a team barbecue intended for squad bonding at Newcastle. He previously opted out of the pre-season tour citing a minor thigh injury, but it is now known he is interested in leaving the club. Isak spent the prior week training alone at Real Sociedad and has returned to Newcastle for face-to-face talks with manager Eddie Howe, who emphasized that players must earn the right to train with the team and uphold team responsibilities.
"You have to earn the right to train with us. We are Newcastle United. The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a squad - you have to act in the right way."
"Isak opted out of the club's pre-season tour of the Far East with Newcastle claiming it was due to a minor thigh injury. It subsequently emerged the Sweden international had asked to explore a move away from Tyneside."
