Valle Monte League has successfully raised $292,800 from its 2024 Christmas Tree Elegance event to support local mental health initiatives. The funds will be equally distributed among four nonprofits: Centre for Living with Dying, Bill Wilson Center, Hearts & Minds Activity Center, and Caminar Family & Children Services. Each organization will use the funds to address specific mental health needs, expand resources, and enhance community awareness. The league has operated on a volunteer basis since 1950, demonstrating commitment without professional administration.
Valle Monte League's fundraising success allows us to make a significant impact in our community, league president Sara Tavernise said in a release.
By investing in these nonprofits, Valle Monte League aims to strengthen community-based resources, increase accessibility to mental health care and raise awareness about mental health issues.
While Valle Monte League has expanded its reach since it was established in 1950 specifically to raise funds for a selected licensed mental health agency, the nonprofit continues to operate without an office and with no paid administrator.
In our partnership (with Valle Monte League), we believe that we are coming closer to providing vital mental health resources, said Maria Nicolacoudis, CEO of Hearts and Minds Activity Center.
