PMax Channel Reporting Gets Video Segmentation Option
"Hana Kobzova has spotted a new segmentation option within the Performance Max (PMax) Channel Reporting that allows advertisers to view data from ads with video as well as without video. This feature is similar to how Google has given the ability to segment ads with products and without since the summer of 2025 in the report."
"Most advertisers may not even know that ads can be running with video if they haven't uploaded one, but PMax can auto-generate video assets on your behalf. Taking some time to see how those auto-generated video assets are working (or how much they aren't) may give you the boost you need to invest in real video."
Performance Max has introduced a new segmentation feature in Channel Reporting that allows advertisers to analyze ad performance data separately for ads containing video and ads without video. This capability mirrors the product-based segmentation option available since summer 2025. The feature is particularly valuable because Performance Max automatically generates video assets even when advertisers haven't uploaded custom videos. By examining how auto-generated video assets perform compared to non-video ads, advertisers can make informed decisions about investing in professionally created video content. This segmentation tool provides visibility into a campaign element many advertisers may not realize is running automatically.
