South-west France town hit with spate of thefts of letter U
Briefly

In the town of Pau, France, a peculiar crime spree involving the theft of the letter 'U' from various establishment signs has persisted for over three years. The latest victim, Valérie Lenoble of the lingerie store Bulle, reported the loss of her shop sign's letter U, speculating that it was an easy crime to commit. Other businesses, including a clinic and a photography studio, have also been targeted, leaving locals puzzled and frustrated. The local prosecutor assures that the investigations are being taken seriously, though many victims feel unheard and frustrated.
He probably just used a crowbar, dislodged the letter and caught it. I think even on his own, it's doable.
I filed a complaint, but to this day I haven't heard anything from the police or the investigation. It's getting boring.
