A one-year-old black cat was found mutilated and burned in a children's play area in Neasden. Discovered partially decomposed on June 4, evidence points to potential foul play as the RSPCA investigates further. An animal rescue officer stated the condition of the cat and the circumstances surrounding its death do not align with typical wildlife predation. A decomposed fox cub was also present, although its connection to the cat remains unclear. Authorities are urging witnesses to come forward with any information.
This is a really awful thing for someone to discover. The poor young cat had been left in the middle of the park near a children's play area in a very sad way.
While large wildlife predation is a possibility, we will not rule out a more sinister explanation as his injuries and the circumstances are not consistent with a wildlife attack.
