The new rules, informally known as the Connected Devices Act, will establish minimum cyber security requirements for all digitally connected products or telecommunications infrastructure in the UK.
The legislation builds upon the unsuccessful Code of Conduct for consumer IoT products from 2018, with a focus on enhancing security for a wide range of products like IoT devices, smart TVs, Wi-Fi routers, and connected cars.
