European leaders arrive in Kyiv in show of solidarity against Russia
Briefly

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited Ukraine to discuss pressure on Russia for a ceasefire. This joint visit, the first of its kind by European leaders, aims to solidify unity against Russia's invasion, especially following President Putin's defiance in Moscow. They seek a 30-day unconditional ceasefire, emphasizing that bloodshed must cease and Ukraine should thrive as a secure nation. Kremlin officials, however, suggest that arms deliveries to Ukraine must end for ceasefire discussions to commence.
Alongside the US, we call on Russia to agree a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire to create the space for talks on a just and lasting peace.
We will continue to increase our support for Ukraine. Until Russia agrees to an enduring ceasefire, we will ratchet up pressure on Russia's war machine.
