In-N-Out inspired these Bay Area burgers from one of the world's greatest chefs
Briefly

Burgers & Half Bottles opened on August 2 in Yountville, featuring Thomas Keller's wagyu burgers, initially debuted in 2020. Set in the former La Calenda location, the pop-up will last for 10 weeks. The menu includes wagyu burgers, chicken sandwiches, lobster rolls, and milkshakes, accompanied by wines in half bottles. Keller's burger idea originated in 1992 after experiencing In-N-Out. The establishment operates on a walk-in basis, Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
The menu at Burgers & Half Bottles features American wagyu burgers with beefsteak tomato, lettuce, red onions, house dill pickles and a secret sauce.
Diners can also expect spicy buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches, lobster rolls, crinkle cut fries, milkshakes and an ice cream sandwich dubbed "It's Ours," made with Bouchon Bakery's "TKO" cookie and vanilla ice cream.
The beverage program offers 20 half bottles of wine and a few wines by the glass. A vintage 1965 Volkswagen van parked out front, dubbed "The Brew Bus," offers several Russian River Brewing Co. taps.
Keller first had the idea of doing burgers in 1992 after he tried In-N-Out in Los Angeles for the first time, pairing the quintessential burger and fries with a half bottle of zinfandel.
