Mark Zuckerberg's wife wasn't a fan of the huge sculpture he built of her
Briefly

Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed that a 7-foot statue of his wife, Priscilla Chan, did not garner the appreciation he had anticipated. Despite the intent to celebrate her through art, Chan found the sculpture, commissioned from artist Daniel Arsham, to be unusual. Zuckerberg acknowledged her discomfort, stating she prefers not to have a statue of herself displayed publicly. This incident highlights the challenges of choosing gifts that align with personal preferences in relationships, especially for high-profile figures. Zuckerberg also mentioned a later gift, a customized Porsche, suggesting his attempts to make gestures are evolving.
"I don't think she was that happy with it," the 40-year-old told Von. "She doesn't want a sculpture of her in the front lawn - that's weird."
As a fan of artist Daniel Arsham's work, Zuckerberg sought him out to collaborate on the project. He decided to use Chan, his college sweetheart, as the muse, "partially because that's cool" but also because it'd be "crazy" to make a sculpture of himself.
