A total of 521 individuals were arrested under terrorism laws after a sit-in protest supporting the banned group Palestine Action outside Parliament Square. The group was proscribed as a terrorist organization in July, following claims of significant property damage. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper stated that some supporters are unaware of the group's nature. The Met Police emphasized their capability to charge substantial numbers swiftly. Prosecution of members may lead to severe penalties, including a 14-year prison term. A High Court challenge against the ban is set for November.
