Lumon Now Has to Answer to an Emmy Winner
"Mr. Milchick doesn't need the Macrodata Refinement department anymore."
""My first acting coach was tough, y'all, but all great mothers are," Tillman teased."
""I am full, I am humbled, I am honored, and as my mama would say, 'Ooh, look at God!'""
"With this win, Tillman became the last possible "first Black actor" to win in the major Emmy acting categories. Viola Davis won Best Leading Drama Actress with How to Get Away With Murder in 2015, Billy Porter won Best Leading Drama Actor in Pose in 2019,andOlivia Cole won in 1977 in the joint Best Supporting Actress in Comedy or Drama category."
Tramell Tillman won his first Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama for his role as Seth Milchick. He is the first openly gay man and the first Black man to win that specific Emmy acting category. In his acceptance speech he recalled humble beginnings and those who helped his career. He credited a tough first acting coach and invoked his mother, saying, "Ooh, look at God!" The win completed the set of inaugural Black acting winners across major Emmy categories, following Viola Davis, Billy Porter, and Olivia Cole. Mr. Milchick doesn't need the Macrodata Refinement department anymore. His innie should be proud.
