A fatal incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. when a person was struck by a GO train east of Guelph Central GO station. The incident took place in single-track territory, which extended the duration and scope of service disruptions. Service was halted at six stations: Kitchener GO, Guelph Central GO, Acton GO, Georgetown GO, Mount Pleasant GO, and Brampton Innovation District GO. Customers traveling from Kitchener to Brampton experienced significant delays and cancellations. Metrolinx advised customers to use the Milton line for eastbound service. Trains continued operating between Bramalea GO and Union Station with possible delays. Police and Metrolinx officials responded to the scene.
