"But President Donald Trump is announcing on Truth Social: The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by all, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you."
"I don't really know where you go from here, said the distraught Cain, who paused before continuing. I don't know where we go from here in a news program, and I don't know where we go from here in America. I don't know what's left for us as a country to discuss when even a discussion and a debate over the issues results in violence that leads to the death of a good man in this country."
Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old right-wing activist and founder of Turning Point USA, died after being shot in the neck at an event at Utah Valley University. He is survived by his wife, Erika, and two young children. Fox News anchor Will Cain interrupted a live interview to announce President Donald Trump's Truth Social post stating 'The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk is dead' and offering sympathies. Cain appeared distraught on air, questioned where public discourse goes from here, and lamented violence resulting from political debate. The shooting occurred Wednesday; Kirk was a prominent youth conservative organizer.
