Beast of Reincarnation coming from Pokemon dev Game Freak in 2026
Briefly

Game Freak, renowned for its iconic Pokémon franchise, introduced 'Beast of Reincarnation' at the Xbox Games Showcase. Slated for release in 2026 on Xbox Series X, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5, the game transports players to the year 4026, where they assume the role of Emma the Sealer. Tasked with combating oversized creatures and robots, Emma's gameplay echoes the mechanics typical of Soulslike games. Initially revealed in 2023 as Project Bloom, the game showcases striking visuals reminiscent of Studio Ghibli, marking a brave departure from Game Freak's traditional narrative style.
Beast of Reincarnation has you playing as Emma the Sealer in the far-off future of 4026 as "humanity awaits its inevitable extinction," according to the trailer's voiceover.
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to create new IP that is bold and tonally different from our prior work, says Game Freak director Kota Furushima.
Emma battles both oversized creatures and robots in the trailer. The combat and parry mechanic shown off resemble what you might expect from a Soulslike.
Beast of Reincarnation was originally revealed in 2023 and called Project Bloom at the time.
