IO Interactive is expanding its creative horizons with the announcement of a sixth original IP, a fantasy RPG, during a recent GameSpot interview. Studio CEO Hakan Abrak emphasized the significance of creative freedom and personal investment in the development of this project. He noted that their first licensed game, '007: First Light,' prioritizes storytelling over mere movie adaptation. Abrak hinted that more information about the new fantasy project could be released soon, describing it as a new world built for long-term player engagement.
The passion and being able to pour some of yourself into this is extremely important for us creatively," Abrak said on GameSpot's Summer Games Fest livestream.
From the get-go we didn't want to do a gamification of a movie. We really wanted to have a swing at our young Bond and his origin story.
