Source: Seahawks trade QB Howell to Vikings
Briefly

The Seattle Seahawks have traded quarterback Sam Howell to the Minnesota Vikings as they look to bolster their roster after drafting Jalen Milroe. Howell is expected to back up quarterback J.J. McCarthy, as the Vikings also retain quarterback Brett Rypien. Howell was initially acquired by Seattle in a trade with the Washington Commanders, where he had a challenging 2023 season, leading the league in interceptions despite starting all games. This trade marks a major shift for Howell, who now aims to rejuvenate his career in Minnesota.
Seattle acquired Howell in a trade last March with the Washington Commanders, giving up third- and fifth-round selections in exchange for Howell and picks in the fourth and sixth rounds.
Howell, 24, struggled badly in a relief appearance of then Seahawks starter Geno Smith in December...completed only 5 of 14 attempts for 24 yards and an interception.
