Trump and China's Xi Jinping begin talks in a push to seal a TikTok deal
""I'm speaking with President Xi, as you know, on Friday, having to do with TikTok and also trade," Trump said Thursday. "And we're very close to deals on all of it.""

""heads-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable role in providing strategic guidance for China-U.S. relations.""
President Donald Trump spoke with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Friday to push to finalize a deal allowing TikTok to continue operating in the United States. The call began around 8 a.m. Washington time, according to a White House official and China's Xinhua News Agency. The conversation could indicate whether the leaders will meet in person to complete an agreement aimed at ending the trade war and clarifying bilateral relations. The call is the second since Trump returned to the White House and enacted high tariffs that prompted reciprocal trade restrictions. TikTok faces a U.S. ban unless its Chinese parent sells its controlling stake.
