"The city's master plan features a two-kilometre green spine connecting neighborhoods while fostering sustainable urbanism through renewable energy, passive cooling, and smart infrastructure."
Khalid Bin Sultan City, developed by BEEAH Group and designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, transforms urban living in Sharjah's desert with a focus on sustainability and walkability. The city's layout prioritizes year-round comfort through a two-kilometre green spine linking neighborhoods and civic spaces. It contains seven compact neighborhoods encouraging interaction, complemented by public plazas and shaded walkways. With smart infrastructure and eco-friendly systems, the city aims to minimize car reliance and support a zero-waste approach, enhancing the quality of urban life while respecting the surrounding environment.
