A survey by health and safety training provider Astutis found that 52.6 per cent of employees admit stress has led them to make errors at work, while 28.5 per cent say they have missed deadlines due to feeling overwhelmed. High school students, especially 12th graders, are reading and learning math and science at historic lows, according to a new report from the National Assessment of Education Progress. The new report, known as the Nation's Report Card, was released Monday by the National Center for Education Statistics, or NCES, and the Department of Education. It is the first nation's report card to be released since the coronavirus pandemic.
The Antioch Police Oversight Commission voted 6-0 to recommend the removal of Commissioner Treva Hadden due to her excessive unexcused absences from meetings. Having missed more than three meetings in a year, the vote places her status in the hands of the Antioch City Council. Hadden was appointed for a three-year term in February 2024 and is currently an ethics investigator in Oakland. If removed, she will be the second commissioner this year to leave before completing her term, following Leslie May's resignation.
