Thanks to moving from Upton Park to the London Stadium, West Ham have theoretically gained the most fans over the past 10 years. Their gates have risen by over 27,000 on average since 2015-16, although a large section of the Hammers fanbase still regret the stadium switch. While the London Stadium has a far higher capacity than Upton Park, it doesn't have a modicum of its charm.
Switzerland were the toast of the continent this summer as hosts of the Women's European Championship. The national team reached the quarter-finals for the first time and a total of 623,088 were in attendance at the 31 matches, a tournament record. The hope within Switzerland was for a boost at club level similar to what England experienced three years previously. Those heights have not been reached, but there has been a definite bump.
For 19 years, New York Comic Con (NYCC) has been the East Coast's most celebrated gala of geekdom. In 2024, the convention welcomed more than 200,000 attendees. In 2025, that number swelled by 50,000, making it the, or one of the, most highly attended conventions in the U.S. From novice nerds to masters, every October, the Javits Center teems with enthusiasts attending author, actor and production company panels, autograph signings and fandom meetups.
"We knew big things were coming. We didn't know the speed at which they were going to come, or the level, but we were ready for whatever came our way," said Phil Cook, the league's chief marketing officer.
