Peel police reported that a man was shot by police in Brampton, sustaining serious injuries and taken to a trauma hospital; no officers were hurt.

"This hurt me a lot because I believed him, and I trusted him to have a home, and it didn't happen... He took me to this site to see the home, but it wasn't my home."

Emergency crews reported three tow trucks in Brampton were set on fire overnight, prompting a police investigation considering the incidents as suspicious.

"Victims of these incidents are often contacted through social media platforms, such as WhatsApp and Facebook, which allow online chat groups," police said in the release.
