If you've ever lingered by a bus lane in your car thinking "just one second," that second might now cost you up to $250. The MTA has quietly expanded its Automated Camera Enforcement (ACE) program -those bus-mounted cameras that catch drivers blocking bus stops, double parking or cruising in bus-only lanes-and the buses themselves are now acting as ticketing agents.

Bus lane cameras coming to 4 more NYC routes starting Monday

Starting Monday, drivers along four more MTA bus routes in Queens and the Bronx will begin receiving warning letters if they block bus lanes or bus stops, officials said. After a 60-day grace period, fines will kick in along the Q6 line in Queens and the Bx20, Bx3 and Bx7 in the Bronx, according to the MTA. Tickets start at $50 and can rise to $250 for repeat offenders.
