"I saw the eyes. I saw it turning itself around towards us, and I started pulling Kona away, saying, 'Let's go.' But she's a really strong dog," Spencer told the outlet.
"Fantastic news off the bat," Jared Karen, a staff member of Kangala Wildlife Rescue, said in an update. "We have seen her, and we've narrowed down the search area to one specific point where we've got cameras in place."
"It was like one of those moments everyone probably has in their life like you're going to make a decision. I felt I was obligated to at least try to fetch this dog out of the river, as I have two dogs myself, and I would hope someone would do that for them if they were in that spot."
