Evacuation orders were issued in Laguna Beach after a brush fire ignited in a hilly area of the city Monday afternoon, authorities said. The fire, dubbed the Rancho fire, started around 2:30 p.m. near Rancho Laguna Road and Morningside Drive, according to the Laguna Beach Fire Department.
Crews responded to a gas and water leak in Cupertino on Sunday, leading to evacuation orders in nearby areas, according to the Santa Clara County Fire Department.
"Authorities have issued warnings of life-threatening flooding as the storm known as Francine moves through Mississippi, with forecasts predicting heavy rains and potential flash floods in multiple states including Arkansas and Alabama."
