Gunfire in North Oakland results in city's 12th homicide of 2026

The gunshots happened about 3 p.m. and prompted a gunshot detection system alert that brought police to the 3000 block of San Pablo Avenue. Once there, police said officers found a man down. Police said the shooting happened after the victim and another person had a confrontation.
