The Nothing Phone (4a) has an excellent 6.78-inch 120Hz display with a 1224x2720px resolution and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Ticking inside is a 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a newer-gen SoC than the 7s Gen 3 in this phone's predecessor, offering around 7% CPU and GPU performance improvements and a 10% efficiency improvement.
The Nothing 4a Pro represents the biggest change. Gone is the translucent back meant to offer a pseudo-glimpse into the internals of the phone, and in its place is a metal unibody design in black, silver or pink, and Nothing's Glyph Matrix interface, now even larger and brighter than it was on the Phone 3.
The Phone (4a) is the clearest expression of that shift yet. The pink colorway, the refined glyph interface, the periscope camera quietly migrating down to the base model, none of it screams for attention. It rewards it. This is a phone designed for people who will notice things gradually, over weeks of use, rather than in the first thirty seconds of an unboxing video.
In the video, Pei confirms that there will be no new flagship launch this year, with the Phone (3) set to continue as Nothing's flagship for 2026. The company will, however, introduce a new model in its (a) series. Pei revealed that Nothing plans to launch a significantly upgraded Phone (4a) later this year. According to Pei, the Phone (4a) aims to deliver a flagship-like experience, complete with premium materials and a bold new design where the brand will experiment with new colors.
