No roadside parking is permitted in the Emerald Bay area of the Tahoe loop highway from July 15 to Oct. 15, affecting a 5-mile stretch between D.L. Bliss State Park and Cascade Lake.

I feel the council's policy is a money-making scheme rather than a genuine bid to crack down on illegal parking. The logic behind it does not make sense.

In years past, the small Walnut Creek neighborhood was overrun with thousands of visitors to Shell Ridge Open Space. Starting this weekend, new parking restrictions are bringing some peace back to neighbors.
