The Patriots are preparing for their first postseason game since 2021, so they'll be playing their most meaningful football this Sunday against the Chargers. They are one of the few fortunate playoff teams to be healthier than they have been for much of the season, but Mike Vrabel just dropped a bombshell that certainly changes that a bit. While speaking to reporters ahead of practice on Wednesday, the head coach shared that several players are dealing with an illness and won't be practicing much because of it, nearly all of whom are starters on the roster.
He was ruled out two hours prior to their Sunday night home matchup with the Indiana Pacers. Curry came down with the illness after their recent road trip to Indianapolis and Milwaukee. He played through it in a Tuesday night home win over the Phoenix Suns, but said his gas tank was on empty in the second half. Curry stayed home during the Warriors' two road losses in Sacramento and Denver.
In a rather concerning development, Carlos Monfort of SPORT reports that Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is not training with the rest of the team three days before the first El Clasico of the season. The Blaugrana take on Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday in a top-of-the-table encounter. As it is, they will be without important players such as Joan Garcia, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Robert Lewandowski, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
