Loftus-Cheek has struggled with injuries, and it's also fair to say his versatility has possibly worked against him at times, as he's never really nailed down one position. Still, it seems Newcastle now have an interest in bringing Loftus-Cheek back to the Premier League, according to TEAMtalk, with intermediaries discussing a possible loan move.

To do so, he will need to play more frequently than he is at the moment. At Milan, he has played 15 official matches this season, scoring one goal (against Lecce in round two) for a total of 715 minutes. Massimiliano Allegri has used him in various roles, both from the start and during the match, placing him as a centre-forward, a midfielder and even as a wing-back against Torino on Monday.

AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to be called up to the England squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia. The PA news agency report that Loftus-Cheek is expected to join Thomas Tuchel's group for the double-header after Adam Wharton suffered a groin injury in Crystal Palace's 3-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday. The 29-year-old returns to the England fold for the first time in six years, with his last call-up coming in March 2019.

Loftus-Cheek could be a fine signing for Sarri at Lazio, with the pair working well together in their brief time crossing paths at Chelsea.
