Man mugged at 79th Street D station

POLICE ARE SEEKING two people who at around 7 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2025, attacked a 63-year-old man at the 79th Street D station, sending him to the hospital. The victim was exiting the station when he was approached from behind, grabbed by the neck and shoved to the ground. The attackers took turns punching and kicking him before forcibly removing his wallet, then fled on foot.

Suspect in custody after man beaten to death at Brooklyn subway station, police say

Police said the 25-year-old suspect was taken into custody later Tuesday night, but his name and charges have not been released. Officers were called shortly after 3 p.m. to the Jay Street-MetroTech subway station, a busy transit hub in Downtown Brooklyn. Police said they found the victim unconscious and unresponsive with injuries to his body. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead.
