The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders is calling for UK-built vehicles, components and batteries to be granted equivalent status to EU-made products under the proposed 'Made in Europe' framework, arguing that the current draft risks undermining a deeply integrated cross-border industry.
"The nuclear power technology that is most common - light water reactors - was originally invented for nuclear submarines. There has actually always been a history of basically pre-fabbing it and looking at it in a shipyard context."
The new C127 EV adopts a modular battery configuration based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology supplied by CATL, delivering a total installed capacity of 497 kWh, an increase from the previous 462 kWh.

The MGU-K will be able to deploy its full 350 kW (469 hp) in key acceleration zones, complementing the V6's 400 kW (536 hp). Outside of those zones, the MGU-K is limited to just 250 kW (335 hp), resulting in smaller speed differentials.
