"It's a difficult time for Santiago Gimenez at the moment, and not just because of the fact that he is struggling to score. As Corriere della Sera (via AllMilan) report this morning, Massimiliano Allegri couldn't contain his frustration with Gimenez during the draw with Pisa. The Rossoneri coach shouted at the striker: "Santiii, wake up... are you sleeping?" Allegri's comments come after a another strange performance from Gimenez, who appeared disoriented and at times isolated."
"Despite having had several big chances this season, the former Feyenoord player has not managed to find the back of the net yet in the league. This is a significant problem considering that it means that Gimenez is still without a goal after eight Serie A games. His only goal so far this season has come in the Coppa Italia, against Lecce."
Santiago Gimenez is experiencing a pronounced goal drought and visible on-field disorientation. Massimiliano Allegri expressed open frustration during the draw with Pisa, shouting at the striker to wake up. Gimenez has had several big chances but has not scored in the league across eight Serie A appearances. His only goal this season came in the Coppa Italia against Lecce. Allegri values Gimenez's off-ball work but the primary metric for a striker is goals, and the coach's patience appears to be waning. AC Milan are monitoring three centre-forwards as possible January reinforcements.
