The Nove Mesto course will have technical climbs, rocky descents, and an iconic stairset section.
Perhaps the wildest section is the long rock garden, where riders have to choose from many equally rough lines across the hillside. How the racers ride it so quickly on SHIRT travel bikes is beyond comprehension.
The best XC racers are skilled at knowing when to attack or pass other riders, which requires intimate knowledge of the course.
