Conflict of interest concerns raised over MEPs' second jobs

Half a dozen members of the European parliament earn more from second jobs than as EU lawmakers, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest.
70% of European parliament members have side jobs, with 26% of these jobs being paid. Six lawmakers earned more than their annual gross MEP salary, with one declaring 3m a year from a real estate business and another earning nearly as much through a corporate law job.
The top 20 MEP earners included members from different political groups, with most belonging to the mainstream center-right and some from nationalist or far-right parties. One independent MEP earned the highest, followed by members from various other groups.
