Lee Byer pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility and having an offensive weapon after stabbing Thomas O'Halloran in a motiveless attack in London, just days after his release from prison.
Mental health reports revealed Byer was psychotic, suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, which the prosecutor accepted as an explanation for the motiveless attack on the victim he fatally stabbed in Greenford.
