A critical incident in Ilford involved a man with a sword crashing a vehicle into a house, stabbing multiple people at around 7 am today. The suspect allegedly attacked members of the public and two police officers. Their conditions are currently unknown.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan mentioned that the incident must have been terrifying for those involved, causing shock, and alarm in the wider community. He reassured that there is no ongoing threat to the community and no additional suspects are being sought. The incident does not appear to be terror-related.
