China's Moon Atlas Is the Most Detailed Ever Made
Briefly

The Geologic Atlas of the Lunar Globe reveals 12,341 craters, 81 basins, and 17 rock types, providing essential geological information at a scale of 1:2,500,000.
Existing Moon maps from the 1960s no longer meet the needs of modern lunar research, prompting the release of the new comprehensive lunar atlas by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
China intends to use these detailed lunar maps to support its lunar ambitions, benefiting not only its own missions but also assisting other countries in their Moon exploration endeavors.
