Despite progress, LGBTQIA+ individuals in Australia continue to face discrimination and hate, with anti-transgender hate on the rise. However, the country has made significant strides in acceptance.
My siblings were really great about it. They asked questions and listened, and have continued to be nothing but supportive. However, it was very hard with my mum. I was 19 at the time, but she said I was confused and too young.
